These baby bunnies enjoyed a miracle escape after they were accidentally dug out of their warren.

Haulage worker Andrew Nixon, 27, unwittingly scooped up the creatures’ home as he shifted tons of soil at his family plant. But he saw something moving in the mound of earth and found the rabbits trying to burrow their way out.
Andrew then sifted through the entire pile to ensure all the animals were saved. He handed the litter of eight to mum Christine, who is now gently caring for the brood.

Christine, 51, said: “Andrew saw something moving in the soil wagon, then realised it was a baby rabbit.
The soil was still moving so he looked again – and seven more struggled to the surface.”

“They were so vulnerable, the size of a small hamster with no fur. I was really worried I wouldn’t be able to care for them. But they’re all feeding now and all have different personalities.”

“But I can’t get too attached as they’re not meant to be pets. I’ll have to release them into the wild in a few weeks.”
